It’s fun to daydream about what you’d do if you won the lottery. First thoughts probably go to traveling the world, maybe buying a mansion. Of course, there’s always the curse of the lottery — have you read about the man who frittered it all away on booze, drugs, and prostitutes . . . and on a demolition derby track in his backyard?
I was just thinking about this as I finished up another day of freelancing and job searching. I currently spend my free time spending time with my family and teaching myself art. If I won the lottery I would definitely drop out of the rat race. But, to be honest, I would probably just take all the art classes I could in the world and set up an honest-to-goodness art studio with enormous windows to let in natural light. I would probably get central air but stay in this house. I really love my little house; it fits my little family perfectly. We’re in a wonderful town, next to a wonderful park that has the most amazing views of Boston. What more could I ask for?
Ok, maybe I would splurge on a first class around the world trip and travel to the Grand Canyon, Cancun, Patagonia, Alaska, Tokyo, Seoul, Nepal, Morocco, Norway, Ireland, Iceland, and then back to Boston. And then maybe a yearly trip to a fabulous destination for the rest of my life.
And afterwards, back to taking art tutorials all day.
What would you do if you won the lottery?
