Video game reviews

Since 2010, I have been playing through and reviewing adventure games. I love the exploration that is synonymous with adventure gaming, and some truly innovative stories are being told in this medium.

Where Jack Allin, a phenomenal editor who gave me my start writing game reviews goes, I go. This is a shiny brand new gaming site, and I'm excited to be part of its launch.

In another horror knockout from Rem Michalski and team, this game has it all, from scares to gross-outs to adrenaline-pumping entertainment. While his games don't have next-gen graphics, Michalski is a maestro of horror, and his artistry comes out in his color palette, sound and music use, and set design. Get ready for a bloody rollercoaster ride in this newest outing from Harvester Games.

My first review for a brand new gaming site. "In Postmodern Adventures’ Nightmare Frames, you’ll help a horror movie screenwriter weigh exactly what he’s willing to do to succeed beyond his wildest dreams. His journey through this retro-styled point-and-click pixel art adventure can be overly complicated at times, but it’s ultimately one that will have you settling down with some popcorn to enjoy the show."

Although it's under new ownership, I'll never forget the site that gave me my game writing start. Here are a few of the reviews of done over the years.

My very first game review done way back in 2010. "This surreal indie adventure entertains even as it raises meaningful questions, and it’s free of charge with no strings attached."

I gave this game one of my very highest reviews. It's a horror story with a high gore factor, so it's not for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoyed this game developer's unique story telling style: "The claws come out in this grisly but brilliant independent adventure that will toy with your emotions in a profound way."

One of my favorite reviews to write, there is just something so magical about Year Walk: "This haunting, surreal journey is a short but intriguing step in the right direction for iOS adventures."

I seem to gravitate to the grim and disturbing. This game was disturbing but also stunningly gorgeous. "Holy smokes, this heavily religious-themed, first-person horror adventure is equal parts gorgeous and disturbing."
