The moon the other night was so orange that it almost looked like a sunset. The Hunter's Moon -- the first full moon after the Harvest Moon. Apparently, the name came from having a bright enough light to allow our ancestors to successfully hunt.
In this picture though, which I took at the top of Robbin's Farm park, the light is competing with all of Boston's city lights. Still, its beauty was enough to overcome all that light pollution. Whenever there are moon events, people flock to the top of the park. We're so lucky to live so close to such a beautiful spot. With everything that is going wrong in the world right now, it's the simple pleasures, like trekking up a grassy hill to see a beautiful sunrise, that let us all breathe a little bit easier and feel a little more at peace.
